Spirits High as TBOY Honors Stars of Spirits and Fashion Industries
It’s known as the “Academy Awards for Texas business women” and this year, spirits will be high - literally – with a vintner, a wine and spirits executive, and a fashion designer vying for the prestigious Texas Business Woman of the Year Award.
The three celebrated women finalists will walk the figurative red carpet, share the spotlight and speak at the 21st MAPcon & TBOY Conference Friday, October 7 at the Renaissance Austin. They will make up a lively interactive VIP panel at the conference luncheon, fielding your questions about their successes, challenges, insights and anything else you’d like to ask. KVUE Anchor Terri Gruca will moderate.
Texas Business Woman of the Year Finalists: The Renowned Trio
Susan Auler, co-owner of Fall Creek Vineyards and Auler Investments, and the co-founder of the famed Texas Hill Country Wine and Food Festival. Fall Creek’s award-winning wines are distributed across the country and have graced the tables of world leaders including four Presidents, Prince Charles, Vladimir Putin and the Premiere of China. Susan is a driving force for growth and education in the Texas wine industry.
Elaine Turner, whose stylish handbags, shoes and accessories are distributed nationwide through luxury retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue and Nordstroms, in boutiques and her flagship store in Houston. After designing for an apparel brand in New York, Elaine launched her own line in 2000. Her first handbag was inspired by raffia that she was using to re-paper the walls of her home. Her designs appear in Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, InStyle, People and StyleWatch. Elaine Turner Designs supports causes benefiting children and breast cancer research and treatment.
Margaret Jabour, co-owner Twin Liquors, one of the most prominent liquor store chains in Texas with 68 locations in nine counties, and wholesale distribution to bars and restaurants.
